What is BodyTalk?
The BodyTalk System
BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the body’s energy systems to be resynchronized so they can operate as nature intended– and effectively respond to injury and illness.
When a body is operating at its optimal level, each system, cell and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, these lines of communication can become compromised, which can lead to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental health.
BodyTalk is thoroughly integrative
BodyTalk has evolved into a state-of-the-art approach to integrative healthcare by drawing upon Western medicine’s scientifically supported research along with a large number of highly recognized ancient and modern healing methods and principles of knowledge such as
- The Energy Dynamics of Acupuncture
- Osteopathic and Chiropractic Philosophy
- The Clinical Findings of Applied Kinesiology
- The Insights of Modern Physics and Mathematics.
The success of BodyTalk stems from the following components:
- BodyTalk is non-invasive and safe.
- BodyTalk facilitates the bodymind’s wellbeing; the revolutionary application of practical, effective techniques is what sets the BodyTalk system apart.
- The BodyTalk system creates an energy balance in the body that heightens the body’s own innate restorative powers. Thus it does not diagnose, nor address disease symptomatically.
BodyTalk is Comprehensive
BodyTalk is a comprehensive and dynamically designed system of energy medicine. It is constantly evolving by bringing together a number of highly recognized healing methods and principles of knowledge into one all-encompassing system.
BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone system to address all physical, mental and emotional health issues. BodyTalk can also be seamlessly integrated to support any other health care modality to increase its effectiveness and promote even faster healing.
BodyTalk Harmonizes Energy Network
The body is a dynamic, interactive, independent network of energy matrixes, consciousness, and physical function. Alternative healthcare systems like Acupuncture, Applied Kinesiology, Homeopathy, Yoga, and Psychology have clearly demonstrated how dramatic changes can be induced in the bodymind complex. Science has also demonstrated that the body is composed of different forms of energy that operate at different frequencies. The BodyTalk System TM is designed to harmonize these energy networks, thereby optimizing the overall balance in the body at all levels.
How the BodyTalk system works
During a BodyTalk session, the practitioner facilitates communication with the Innate Wisdom of the body by using neuromuscular biofeedback. After asking a series of yes or no questions, the client’s own body wisdom leads the practitioner to locate the imbalances within the body that are a priority, or are not communicating correctly and are out of balance with the rest of the body.
Next, the practitioner holds the areas that have been highlighted by the testing procedure and taps gently on the head and the sternum. By tapping on the head, the brain becomes cognizant of and repairs the communication. Tapping on the sternum, or heart, ensures that the new information is stored throughout the whole body.
This process guarantees the mechanisms of the body can function and operate at optimal levels, which in turn accelerates the healing process, thus preventing future imbalances within those highlighted areas. The BodyTalk practitioner is teaching the body to return itself to balance.
BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone system that can address many physical and emotional problems or can be seamlessly integrated into any healthcare system to increase its effectiveness and promote faster healing. BodyTalk can be done in person or equally effectively as a remote session.
Balancing Principles
Innate Wisdom of the Body
The body is supposed to heal itself, and usually it does. There are over 200 billion processes going on it the body every second. All of these processes involve communication systems which work together to process input and heal the body. The problem is that stress (whether physical, emotional, environmental or dietary) causes these communication lines to breakdown, and then the body cannot complete its natural healing process.
Asking the Body
The practitioner establishes the location of these “weak circuits” by using a form of biofeedback “yes” and “no” responses are established, and the practitioner follows a rigorously formulated protocol of questions to determine which of these imbalance need to be addressed, and in what order.
Linking
Once these areas have been identified (for example, there is a weak circuit between the liver and the spleen), the practitioner uses light hand contacts over these areas, to help reset this communication. This “linking” allows for an energy shift to occur in the body, which resynchronizes the activities, and restores balance, health, and well-being.
The BodyTalk treatment protocol is very straightforward and does not require any diagnosis. The practitioner relies on the guidance of innate wisdom, through muscle testing, to not only locate the weakened lines of communication in the body but also to find the proper order in which they are to be addressed. Just as the body heals a wound with a particular sequencing of chemical reactions, the body wants to address all healing in a certain order. This priority is paramount in the balancing process to initiate the body's ability to heal itself. The healing process usually follows rather quickly.
The session procedure
A BodyTalk session usually lasts between 15 and 40 minutes. The duration of a session is not indicative of the quality of the session, or of the results that occur. Because the client’s innate wisdom is dictating the session, the client is assured of receiving exactly what is needed at the particular time, for the enhanced communication and balancing to take place. During this time, the client is usually in a state of relaxation, is kept informed of the formulas being used, and is involved in the process of the “tapping out”. The client’s body will dictate when the session is complete, and it will establish a time when the client needs to come in for a follow up session.

Your Body’s unique priorities
Your body knows what communications are lacking; it is not the practitioner who decides what need to be balanced.
The BodyTalk philosophy is that every person has a unique balance that needs to be addressed. Once balanced, the body’s own innate healing system will successfully address specific symptoms and establish lasting patterns of good health.
Naturally, most clients arrive with a health agenda and this agenda is addressed. However, the BodyTalk practitioner does not make a diagnosis for the purpose of establishing a specific session protocol. BodyTalk recognizes that while two clients may show identical symptoms, the communication links to balance their conditions may be entirely different.

Is BodyTalk a form of massage, Reiki, Chiropractic, Acupuncture or a combination?
BodyTalk is its own system. It has aspects that resemble other systems, since the founder studied and/or practiced many forms of medicine, from Western (such as osteopathy, sports medicine, western psychology) to Eastern (such as acupuncture and Yoga). The 2 main differences between BodyTalk and other modalities are:
BodyTalk does not rely on the practitioner to determine what needs to be done. We ask the body through biofeedback, using a subtle type of muscle-testing that has some similarities to applied kinesiology, though it differs in a few significant ways.
BodyTalk is not determining function/dysfunction; it is looking for priority and sequence. In other words, BodyTalk asks, “What is the most important thing to do for the body right now? What does the body need first? After that is balanced, then what?
Do you do different things depending on the ailments of the individual or do you follow a more prescriptive approach?
We do not follow a predetermined prescription for any ailment. Every single BodyTalk session is different. 5,000 people could complain of identical symptoms, and they would all have different BodyTalk sessions. There may be elements that are the same, but there will be differences, because we are all unique, with different backgrounds, experiences, thoughts, feelings, bodies, etc.
Is BodyTalk safe?
The BodyTalk system has been practiced in 27 different countries now for several years. There are thousands of BodyTalk practitioners throughout the world who are now using the system on a regular basis. In all of these cases, the BodyTalk system has proved to be a totally safe and effective form of treatment. The reason is that a BodyTalk treatment only involves rebalancing every system throughout the body – there is nothing invasive or dangerous about it whatsoever.
We do advise, however that BodyTalk is not a substitute for conventional medical care, and there may be times when consultation with a physician is required.
Why does it work so well?
With BodyTalk, the practitioner does not need to diagnose the problem with the patient. The innate intelligence of the human body informs the practitioner which energy systems need to be rebalanced, and in which particular order. In the vein, the treatment is in no way influenced by what the practitioner thinks is “wrong” with the patient.
When you consider that there are over a billion synchronized activities that occur in the human body every second, it’s not hard to see that the conscious mind of a practitioner may have some difficulty in determining exactly what is going on inside someone’s body. This is where the BodyTalk system excels.
The practitioner is relieved of this burden, and the source of the problem is actually the provider of the information that is needed for the patient to heal. This is a key aspect of the BodyTalk system, and one which we feel is probably the main reason why the system works so well.
Are there any side effects to BodyTalk?
BodyTalk involves tapping into the innate intelligence of the patient before treatment. In this way, the BodyTalk practitioner is always aware what the patient’s body can safely deal with at any particular time. Not surprisingly therefore, the clinical findings of BodyTalk treatment have shown that the system is totally safe. By virtue of the BodyTalk treatment protocol, the human body will not allow the practitioner to treat it for a condition unless it is perfectly safe to do so.
There are, however, some healing symptoms that may occur in certain cases. For instance, if a patient?s body is ridding itself of a virus, flu type symptoms may occur until this process is complete. Symptoms could also appear for a short time after treating parasites, toxins, and emotional releases. These are always short lasting however, and as stated above, the innate intelligence of the body is always questioned by the practitioner in advance to ensure that the body is capable of dealing with healing the particular condition. Finally, insulin levels may need to be monitored after a blood sugar balancing treatment if the patient is a diabetic. BodyTalk practitioners know to never treat blood sugar on a diabetic unless the patient is capable of monitoring and adjusting his or her own insulin levels.
How many treatments is a normal course?
There is no generic number of sessions for all people. The number of sessions varies depending upon each person's condition, goals, and responsiveness (which depends on total vitality, the length that the issue has been present and genetic disposition among other factors). Some just need one or two sessions, some five or six, and some prefer to come for more sessions to help handle high levels of stress.
